The Only Reason You Were A VP Candiate Is Because You have Hooters!

Let's be real. The ONLY reason Geraldine Ferraro was chosen as a vice presidential running mate is because she has hooters and ovaries!

That's the plain truth. Now, for her to say:

"I think what America feels about a woman becoming president takes a very secondary place to Obama's campaign - to a kind of campaign that it would be hard for anyone to run against," she said. "For one thing, you have the press, which has been uniquely hard on her. It's been a very sexist media. Some just don't like her. The others have gotten caught up in the Obama campaign.

"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position," she continued. "And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept." Ferraro does not buy the notion of Obama as the great reconciler.

 

Shows some gonads on her part! But, to follow up with:

Shows she needs a wheel barrow to walk around with the size of her gonads!
"Any time anybody does anything that in any way pulls this campaign down and says let's address reality and the problems we're facing in this world, you're accused of being racist, so you have to shut up," Ferraro said. "Racism works in two different directions. I really think they're attacking me because I'm white. How's that?"

But then she keeps digging deeper:

Ferraro said she was simply stating an obvious truth, as seen in exit polls that show Obama taking as much as 80 percent of the black vote in the Democratic primaries.

"In all honesty, do you think that if he were a white male, there would be a reason for the black community to get excited for a historic first?" Ferraro said. "Am I pointing out something that doesn't exist?"

Let me see, from what I remember, Shirley Chisholm ran for president. So did Jesse Jackson, Sr. And here is the pimp smack right here: Al Sharpton ran for the presidential nomination and he only won ONE MAJORITY BLACK VOTING DISTRICT!

So, now what do you have to say, Gerry?

I wonder if the Spitzer's had an "arrangement."

The federal investigation of a New York prostitution ring was triggered by Gov. Eliot Spitzer's suspicious money transfers, initially leading agents to believe Spitzer was hiding bribes, according to federal officials.

It was only months later that the IRS and the FBI determined that Spitzer wasn't hiding bribes but payments to a company called QAT, what prosecutors say is a prostitution operation operating under the name of the Emperors Club.

As recently as this past Valentine's Day, Feb. 13, Spitzer, who officials say is identified in a federal complaint as "Client 9," arranged for a prostitute "Kristen" to meet him in Washington, D.C.

 

I say this because why would his wife, after finding out her husband has been with a prostitute, stand there by her husband's side? Especially after learning he put out $1000 - $6000!

The appointments, made through an online booking service, cost between $1080 and $5950 an hour.

I mean, DAYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

If Obama doesn't jump on this, he doesn't deserve a shot at the presidency.

Mrs Clinton has made Northern Ireland key to her claims of having     extensive foreign policy experience, which helped her defeat Barack     Obama in Ohio and Texas on Tuesday after she presented herself as     being ready to tackle foreign policy crises at 3am.   

"I helped to bring peace to Northern Ireland," she told     CNN on Wednesday.   But negotiators from the parties that helped     broker the Good Friday Agreement in 1998 told The Daily Telegraph     that her role was peripheral and that she played no part in the     gruelling political talks over the years.

If Clinton has experience in foreign policy, then that means she had access to documents and information to which she shouldn't have had access. I damn sure would jump on it.

Mail List Comments R Me: Eonomics and Political Party

So there is a mini-firestorm happening on an email list that I'm on. It happens to be about voting Democratic vs. voting Republican.

In one of the responses, I wrote:

I don't care if politicians feel my pain. I just want them out of my damn pocket and out of my way.

Later, I wrote the following (with edits) response to the question of how voting for the GOP would fulfill that desire:

Right now, if the tax cuts stay in place, my taxes will be lower because of DS 2.0 and the Mrs. Other than that, they are a waste. But the Democrats are talking about re-vamping income taxes, which means I'm screwed.

I'm going though that now in Maryland, which is controlled by Dems. They have increased the sales tax. The Dem governor, Martin O'Malley, is talking about taking measures to force a decrease in green house emissions by 90%, without even knowing what is possible. He has even said as much. As a result, a lot of people, including some Democrats, are saying the measures  he is talking about WILL drastically increase the cost of living for all people left in Maryland. O'Malley is in a pissing contest with an energy provider in Maryland and there are now lawsuits flying left and right. O'Malley's moves and comments are blamed for about a 15% drop of the company's stock value.

When we lock up the parents and teachers and school officials involved in public schools when TayKwan graduates functionally illiterate, then I'll support your point. Until then, Cali is practicing facism.

When a parent has to have credentials in order to home school their own children, even if the parent is using a program from a credentialed school, something is wrong:

A California appeals court ruling clamping down on homeschooling by parents without teaching credentials sent shock waves across the state this week, leaving an estimated 166,000 children as possible truants and their parents at risk of prosecution.

The homeschooling movement never saw the case coming.

"At first, there was a sense of, 'No way,' " said homeschool parent Loren Mavromati, a resident of Redondo Beach (Los Angeles County) who is active with a homeschool association. "Then there was a little bit of fear. I think it has moved now into indignation."

The ruling arose from a child welfare dispute between the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and Philip and Mary Long of Lynwood, who have been homeschooling their eight children. Mary Long is their teacher, but holds no teaching credential.

The parents said they also enrolled their children in Sunland Christian School, a private religious academy in Sylmar (Los Angeles County), which considers the Long children part of its independent study program and visits the home about four times a year.

The Second District Court of Appeal ruled that California law requires parents to send their children to full-time public or private schools or have them taught by credentialed tutors at home.

And it is telling when the teachers union hails the ruling:

The ruling was applauded by a director for the state's largest teachers union.

"We're happy," said Lloyd Porter, who is on the California Teachers Association board of directors. "We always think students should be taught by credentialed teachers, no matter what the setting."

Damn, it seems like we are moving closer to having the government raise our children. Think about how the government responded to Katrina or how the government responded to this.

Have Ya'll Taken A Look A "The Other" America?

Ummm.... If you wonder why there is a spike in oil prices, I'm sure this doesn't help:

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela deployed tanks and air and sea forces toward the Colombian border on Wednesday in its first major military mobilization in a crisis that has raised fears for regional stability.

Venezuela's military said it started sending 10 tank battalions toward the border and activated its air force and navy. Military analysts estimates such a mobilization could include more than 200 tanks.

The action escalated tensions over Colombia's weekend raid to kill rebels inside another South American neighbor, Ecuador, which Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, an ally of leftist Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa, said could spark war.

While Ecuador and Venezuela have poured soldiers toward their borders with U.S.-backed Colombia in recent days, Wednesday's movements were the first signs of heavy firepower being mobilized.

Colombia said it would not deploy extra forces and governments worldwide urged the nations to defuse tensions as Venezuela and the United States blamed each other for the intensifying crisis.

WHITE HOUSE (AP) - Don't look for President Bush to be sitting down with the new president of Cuba anytime soon.

During his news conference, Bush defended his stance of not talking directly with leaders of adversaries such as Iran and Cuba without setting preconditions. In doing so, he offered some of his strongest criticism yet of Raul Castro, who assumed Cuba's presidency on Sunday after his ailing brother Fidel stepped aside.

Bush told reporters that "sitting down at the table, having your picture taken with a tyrant such as Raul Castro, for example, lends the status of the office and the status of our country to him."

Bush and the Beijing Olympics

President George W Bush has said that he will attend the Beijing Olympics amid a growing furore about China's support of the Sudanese regime.

Mr Bush said he viewed the Games as a "sporting event" and that China's close ties with Sudan would not affect his stance, despite what he has termed "genocide" in the Sudanese region of Darfur.

Am I wrong in wondering what's the difference here? How many political prisoners does China have now and how many have they had in the past? How many died in custody? And the difference between them and Cuba is?

Dem Politics; Hmmmm....

Things that make me go, "hmmmmm...." concerning Democrat presidential politics:

• The candidate whined about getting asked questions firstand picked up the "late breaking" female vote, again.
• The candidate whined about press coverage, it was picked up and lampooned by Saturday Night Live, and the "late breaking" vote went for the whining candidate.
• The candidate split hairs over denounce and reject but hemmed and hawed about a supporter saying Latinos won't support A Black candidate. Not THIS candidate who happens to be Black, but A. BLACK. CANDIDATE.
• The candidate agreed that 2 state's delegates wouldn't be counted, then put her name on the ballot when the other candidates removed their names from the ballot. Now the candidate wants those delegates, even though she agreed they shouldn't be counted.
• The candidate states change is someone who was married to a person who was president. The candidate says she has experience because she was married to the president. It appears, to me, that her experience is standing by while her husband dilly dallied in the oval office hallway.
• The wife of "the first Black candidate" is sitting by while her minions, including hubby, use the race card against the Black candidate.
• The NOW crowd is upset that, for some, race tops gender.
• Now, WHY IN THE HELL would the candidate's people "O.J." Obama by darkening his picture?
• The candidate won Texas and Ohio, which she was expected to win at first, by much larger margins. The competitor made both races tight, but the expected outcome was what happened. This is a comeback?

Comments R Us: I'm Tired Of This Ignorant Line Of Thinking

I'm sick and tired of the following IGN'ANT line of "thinking" that some from the Right, try to make:

For example, Michael Steele is highly intelligent and articulate, and having been a State Pary Chairman, as well as a being Lt. Governor....I think he was very well "qualified" to be a U.S. Senator. And considering that there hasn't been a Black U.S. Senator from the State of Maryland, so wouldn't have been groundbreaking? Wouldn't that have been worthy of Black unifying behind him?

1. Black people didn't unite behind a person you call a "Black leader," Al Sharpton. So why should they unite behind Michael Steele?
2. Why is it that "the right" wants to push qualifications when appropriate, but then when a Black person they deem acceptable is put forth, they want to use the card? You know the card. "But, he's Black!"

Kansas politicians are fuming over the US Air Force's decision to award a 40-billion dollar tanker refueler modification contract to a foregn company.

Boeing and French rival Airbus had been vying for the contract. Boeing said the deal would have meant hundreds of jobs in Wichita if it were awarded to them.

Boeing's Wichita facility would have served as a finishing location for the 767, in essence, outfitting it to become a KC-767, as well as test flying the planes before delivery to the military.

Kansas Congressman Todd Tiahrt told KAKE News previously that the contract would have meant nearly 4,000 jobs in the Wichita area for Boeing and its contractors. He also said the contract would have injected 14-million dollars into the local economy annually.

A "whites only" sign was still hanging on the precinct house water fountain in 1964 when James Booker joined the suburban College Park police force.

He soon learned it wasn't the only thing off limits to Georgia's new black recruits.

Until 1976, black officers were blocked from joining a state-supported supplemental police retirement fund.

Today, white officers who entered the fund before that year are taking home hundreds of dollars more every month in retirement benefits than their black counterparts.

The now-retired black officers have been lobbying hard to change that, but eight years after they began an effort to amend the state constitution and give them credit for those lost years is stalled in the Legislature.

The Georgia Constitution prohibits the state from extending new benefits to public employees after they have retired.

If lawmakers don't take action in the final weeks of the legislative session, the battle will move to the courthouse this spring, said state Rep. Tyrone Brooks, an Atlanta Democrat and civil rights activist leading the officers' campaign.

"I was hoping we wouldn't have to go this route, but litigation appears to be our only option," Brooks said.

Ronald Hampton, executive director of the National Black Police Association, said he knows of no other state with a similar pension situation. "Only Georgia is shameless enough to still have this out there," Hampton said.

I Wanna Love Music Again

I am no longer in love and I know it's wrong, but there it is.

I don't love music anymore.

Yeah, this ain't original 'cuz Common said it best, but I'm still going to have my say.

Today the wife just said chill and today is, according to the doctor, the last day I'm contagious. I'm feeling a lot better so I'm puttering around the house doing a little bit here and there and doing a "bleach wash" behind where I go. Today would be THE perfect day to crank up the music system, turn on the best radio station for the moment and just let the music play, but I can't.

The stations that don't offend my sensibilities crank out good tunes every so often, but they are all old school. That's fine, because right now I'm cranking Loose Ends in the background, but I need to get the good NEW feeling again.

I used to be able to listen to the radio, hear what I like, go to the store, get the album and  while in the store, ask around for new music "like this" that they might suggest and give it a listen. You know, when they had a turntable in the store and would spin some stuff for you.

My music fan friends are like me, and no longer in tune to some of the new stuff coming out. Buying a CD or downloading some group just isn't a high priority. Getting Miss D.S.'s Zune to listen to some of her stuff is impossible these days. I have to admit, my daughter's taste is not too bad when it comes to non-hip-hop.

I wanna fall back in love.

I wanna turn on a station and just jam.

Hell, somebody tell me, WHERE'S THE FUNK AT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

32 Days of Black History

Please join my friend, Yvette (over at Six Impossible Things…) and I as we celebrate Black History Month with a blogathon. You read it right: We’ll be blogging all things–well, many things– Black for 32 consecutive days, Feb. 1 - March 3. 

 

Why 32 days? As many black folks have wryly observed–some with tongues planted in cheeks, some without–”they” picked the shortest month of the year to celebrate our contributions. In truth, “they” didn’t pick February at all:

 

Black History Month was established in 1976 by Afro-Americans for the Study of Afro-American Life and History.^[1] The month-long celebration was an expansion of Negro History Week, which was established in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson, director of what was then known as the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History. Silly Season Tidbits

OK, I've been holding off, but I have to go here now.

• There is a picture that shows Obama's hands in front of him while Richardson and Clinton have their hands over their heart. Liars are saying It is being said that Obama refused to hold his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance. However, if you looked at the picture, did you notice that no one is speaking in the picture? Was it snapped at the exact moment when everyone stopped speaking a word but just before inhaling? Hmmm.... Here's the deal. The picture was taken during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner. There is no hand over heart protocol for the song.
• The use of the middle name is no big deal, but those who use Barak's middle name, like the commentator Cunningham, do it to allege that he is some sort of radical Muslim Manchurian Candidate. In fact, what is being missed in this nonsense dust up is that Cunningham has STATED the possibility that Obama is a Manchurian Candidate.
• Going after Obama's "association" to Farrakhan is a legitimate political tactic. But people in glass houses (Hillary), should not throw stones. (Colbert I. King is the man).
• Sen. McCain has his own "association" problem as well.
• People need to give it a rest. The Clinton "phone call at night ad" is a legitimate ad, and the response by Obama is an appropriate response.
• Is it just me or are conservatives now starting to "fall in line" with McCain? McCain should send a thank you note to The New York Times.
• Am I going to be the only person who writes this? If McCain wins, the person McCain chooses as vice president stands a great chance of being appointed president during their term due to McCain's age.
• I don't think Ralph Nader will do as much "damage" to Democrats this time than he did last time, IF Obama is the Democratic nominee.

Sometimes I just wonder why certain artists don't catch fire on "Black radio".

If you like Prince, how can you tell me you don't feel Lenny Kravitz?
If you like Tank, how can you tell me you don't feel Seal?
