I used to watch a series on VH-1 or MTV that featured attempts to get musical groups that had broken up, to come back together for one "special concert." One show featured the women from Klymaxx. After they performed in concert, one member asked, "After this, how do I go back to the cubicle farm?" That comment has stayed with me ever since because it represents, to me, never being satisfied after you have tasted "the good life."
Last night, Mrs. D.S. watched "Building A Dream: The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy." Near the end, she turned to me and asked, "How can those girls go back to living they way they lived during school breaks? Here they are, in the lap of luxury with running water, toilets, and soft beds. During breaks, they have to go back to nothing."
I think the idea is that they "won't be able to go back to that" and with their education, will do something to change their circumstances and possibly the circumstances of others around them.
