No one can tell me that a person has respect for life when that person refuses to hold a position on the state of Texas saying that it has a right to execute a person whose lawyer fell asleep during the trial. You can't tell me that person has a respect for life when the state of Texas argues that it has an obligation to provide a lawyer, not a competent lawyer. You can't tell me that person has a respect for life when the state argues it is right to try to execute the convicted person, yet had barred the lawyer from handling any more death penalty cases.
