Are Democrats really defenders of the "little man" or "common man"?
Looking at what is happening in New Jersey, you have to say, HELL NO!
A Democrat pledges to not raise taxes and wins the election. He then "determines" that the sales tax has to be raised, or else. He then shuts down government which means he shuts down one of the state's primary tax generating resources. This, in turn, kicks people out of jobs. How many of the casino workers are living paycheck to paycheck?
The shutdown could cost the 12 casinos more than $16 million that they would normally collect from gamblers each day, not to mention the $1.3 million in taxes taken in by the state.
Compare the taxes taken in by each casino per day, vs. the sales tax increase per day. Take into account the jobs the casinos provide.
So, is that Democrat looking out for the little man?
