Teena Marie's new CD, Sapphire, is a decent CD. If you were to think that her previous release was her first release, and this were her sophomore release, you could say she falls to the sophomore jinx.
But since she has been around for so long, I won't be stupid enough to write something like that. ;-)
This CD has a different vibe to it than the previous release.
The song, "Ohh Wee" is getting some airplay now, but in my opinion, it's not the best cut. Because my bias lies in the upbeat cuts, I like the cut, "Make It Hot".
The vibe is more love making and mellow. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent CD, just not as good as La Dona.
The CD starts off with two duets with Smokey Robinson. The first is 2 minutes and change long, the second is longer. That is the better of the two.
I give it a 7 out of 10. For the current price, it's a no brainer. Get it.
