A Car Salesman Will Lose His Job

[ Originally published 5/2/2008 @ 12:46:49 PM ]

A car salesman will lose his job today. If not today, VERY soon.

More later.

[ UPDATE 5/30/2008 ]

I heard from the general manager of the local dealership. He apologized and said he is willing to "discount" a new car. We shall see. He also mentioned that the President of Ourisman Automotive Enterprises, John Ourisman, received my fax and/or letter and called him about the situation. And the person who I identified no longer works at the dealership.

[ UPDATE ]

May 24, 2008

Mandell J. Ourisman, Chairman

Ourisman Automotive Enterprises

4400 Branch Ave

Marlow Heights, MD 20748

CC: John Ourisman, President

Mohamed Reshed, CFO

Dear Mandell Ourisman:

On Saturday, May 24, 2008, I entered the Ourisman Hyundai dealership in Laurel, Maryland. I explained that I was looking for a car for my mother and wanted a brochure and a look at the car. They didn’t have an Elantra in the showroom and offered to show me the car that was on the lot. A salesman wrote down the VIN to obtain the key. After 15 minutes of waiting, I placed my son in the car and was ready to leave. I told another dealer that a sale had been lost because of the time it took to get the keys. He responded by saying, “If you were serious, you would wait, so take your ass away!” After asking him to repeat himself, which he did, I got out of my car. He approached me as if he was ready to fight me. I got my son out of the car and went back into the dealership.

I asked for the general manager and told the original salesman what happened. He then said they had trouble finding the key. I told him his answer was acceptable, HOWEVER, the other salesman’s “customer service” was not acceptable. I pointed out the person who said, “If you were serious, you would wait, so take your ass away!” and asked for that person’s name. I was told his name is “Ronald.”

Is this behavior appropriate for Ourisman salesmen?

The bottom line to this is Ourisman Hyundai lost a potential sale of $14,000. I am in need of a new vehicle and decided to get a Mazda CX-9. The Hyundai dealership is attached to the Mazda dealership, which I had visited about 5 months ago and from which I intended to buy the CX-9. That is a potential sale of $35,000. My wife owns a Honda Accord which we purchased from Ourisman Honda in Laurel. I told her that we will take her car to another Honda dealership for servicing. Her car is 5 years old and I’m sure you have the potential revenue from service available. This is at a minimum a loss of $49,000 to your company because “Ronald” responded to a loss of a sale in a manner that was unacceptable.  I will also make sure my family, friends, and co-workers know of this experience.

Dirty Jobs

There is a television show on Discovery called "Dirty Jobs." Right now, the host is helping people who suck semen out of gobblers to inseminate the hens. They have to do this because they breed the turkeys to produce big breasts. As such, they are physically incapable of mating.

That's right, they are bread for big breasts making it impossible for the turkeys to breed naturally. And, there are men who suck semen from the gobblers.

5 - 10 Seconds Is Rape

I really don't know what to say:

According to testimony, the 18-year-old woman had just had sex with another man, and Mr. Baby asked whether he could "hit that" also.

...

Mr. Baby testified that the woman agreed, as long as he would stop when she told him to. The woman testified that Mr. Baby continued for five to 10 seconds after she asked him to stop.

Wow. He stopped 5 - 10 seconds after she told him to stop. I'm thinking it took about 3 seconds to register and then about another 2 - 3 seconds to say, "Huh?" and then the rest of the time to stop.

No means no, but damn. NO man, regardless of marital status, is safe from this.

So, Is YouTube The Problem?

None of this would have happened if it weren't for YouTube.

Video was released late Monday afternoon showing a brutal beating at the hands of a gang of teenage girls. Their motivation for the attack was apparently so they could post the video on YouTube.

The victim reported the attack after she was beaten so badly she had to be treated at the hospital. That's when the sheriff's office started looking into it and learned about the video.

Anti-Kwanzaa Madness Starting...

The "anti-Kwanzaa" madness has started, or resurfaced, again, this time as the focus of a lawsuit.

Probate Court Clerk Chris Thomas filed a complaint in Chancery Court on Friday to block the Kwanzaa celebration to be hosted by County Commissioner Henri Brooks on Wednesday.

"The reason I filed the lawsuit is because of the discrimination against Christians, Jews and other faiths by allowing the Kwanzaa celebration to happen and by not allowing us to have a ceremony," Thomas said. "I've asked Mayor (AC) Wharton to stop it and he won't. Now I'm asking a judge to stop it."

In the lawsuit, Thomas said the event is in violation of the First Amendment by allowing Brooks to host a Kwanzaa celebration and by denying members of other religions to do the same.

Seeing that Kwanzaa isn't a religious celebration, how can they win?

EZ Pass To Busted!

Wow... I have a friend who refuses to get EZ Pass because he doesn't want the government tracking his movements. I thought he was a bit over the top, but maybe not.

(CBS/AP) TRENTON, N.J. There's some potentially troubling and telling news for all you motorists out there who may be taking the Turnpike for the worst crime in marriage: cheating on your significant other.

E-ZPass and other electronic toll collection systems are emerging as a powerful means of proving infidelity. That's because when your spouse doesn't know where you've been, E-ZPass does.

"E-ZPass is an E-ZPass to go directly to divorce court, because it's an easy way to show you took the off-ramp to adultery," said Jacalyn Barnett, a New York divorce lawyer who has used E-ZPass records a few times.

Lynne Gold-Bikin, a Pennsylvania divorce lawyer, said E-ZPass helped prove a client's husband was being unfaithful: "He claimed he was in a business meeting in Pennsylvania. And I had records to show he went to New Jersey that night."

This Is Just Silly

Cities sue gangs in bid to stop violence

FORT WORTH, Texas - Fed up with deadly drive-by shootings, incessant drug dealing and graffiti, cities nationwide are trying a different tactic to combat gangs: They're suing them.

Fort Worth and San Francisco are among the latest to file lawsuits against gang members, asking courts for injunctions barring them from hanging out together on street corners, in cars or anywhere else in certain areas.

The injunctions are aimed at disrupting gang activity before it can escalate. They also give police legal reasons to stop and question gang members, who often are found with drugs or weapons, authorities said. In some cases, they don't allow gang members to even talk to people passing in cars or to carry spray paint.

"It is another tool," said Kevin Rousseau, a Tarrant County assistant prosecutor in Fort Worth, which recently filed its first civil injunction against a gang. "This is more of a proactive approach."

Sure. Sue them. THAT will get them to stop banging!

NOT!

Dumb

I often wondered (not really) why people could not leave the weed alone for a few years when they have multi-million dollar contracts. I guess now I have to ask why they can't leave dog fights alone.

(CBS/AP) Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury on charges related to illegal dog fighting.

Vick and three others were charged with violating federal laws against competitive dog fighting, procuring and training pit bulls for fighting and conducting the enterprise across state lines.

Vick and the other defendants — Purnell A. Peace, Quanis L. Phillips and Tony Taylor — were involved in an ongoing animal fighting venture based out of Vick's home in Smithfield, Va., from early 2001 to April 2007, according to a statement released by the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Vick faces $350,000 in fines and six years in prison if convicted of the charges.

Michael Vick is a dumb ass. His brother, more so. They show lack of home training.

iPhone == DOS?

This is funny!

The Wi-Fi connection on Apple's recently released iPhone seems to be the source of a big headache for network administrators at Duke University.

The built-in 802.11b/g adapters on several iPhones periodically flood sections of the Durham, N.C., school's pervasive wireless LAN with MAC address requests, temporarily knocking out anywhere from a dozen to 30 wireless access points at a time. Campus network staff are talking with Cisco, the main WLAN provider, and have opened a help desk ticket with Apple. But so far, the precise cause of the problem remains unknown.

"Because of the time of year for us, it's not a severe problem," says Kevin Miller, assistant director, communications infrastructure, with Duke's Office of Information Technology. "But from late August through May, our wireless net is critical. My concern is how many students will be coming back in August with iPhones? It's a pretty big annoyance, right now, with 20 to 30 access points signaling they're down, and then coming back up a few minutes later. But in late August, this would be devastating."

That's because the misbehaving iPhones flood the access points with up to 18,000 address requests per second, nearly 10Mbps of bandwidth, and monopolizing the AP's airtime.

T.B. Man....

[ Update ]

It's being reported that the TB person who flew all over the world is a LAWYER!!!!

Seriously. I. KNEW. IT!!!!!

Yesterday, it was reported in the news that he had said that it was not explicitly said to him that he was not allowed to travel, only that he should not travel. I told Mrs. D.S. that the person was a "high powered business man" with an over inflated sense of himself and that he was probably a high powered lawyer.

DENVER — The tuberculosis patient under the first federal quarantine since 1963 is a 31-year-old personal injury attorney who practices law with his father in Atlanta, a federal law enforcement official said Thursday.

The official, who asked to remain anonymous because he was not authorized to talk about the case, identified the patient as Andrew Speaker. A medical official in Atlanta also confirmed the name on
condition of anonymity.

The man has a rare and dangerous form of tuberculosis that has proved resistant to drugs. He arrived at Denver's National Jewish Medical and Research Center for treatment Thursday, walking under his own power after flying from Atlanta with his wife and federal marshals, hospital spokesman William Allstetter said.

He looked healthy and tan, and "he said he still felt fine," Allstetter said.

Only a lawyer would parse language in that manner.

The jackass needs to be brought up on charges if possible.

Time To Grow Up

It's time people grew up. Here are conservatives using the "articulate" word:

Washington Post Blog

Secretary of State Ken Blackwell's victory earlier this month has state and national Republicans considerably more optimistic about their chances of holding the governor's mansion this fall. In the primary Blackwell cast himself as the antithesis of outgoing Gov. Bob Taft (R) -- a good idea since the incumbent's job-approval rating hovers in the teens (thanks to the "Coingate" scandal plaguing his administration).  Phil Musser, executive director of the Republican Governors Association, sums up the race like this: "Blackwell is an articulate, charismatic candidate, will be well funded, and Ohio is a fundamentally red state." Count The Fix as still skeptical since conservative Democratic Rep. Ted Strickland is the best possible candidate for his party. If Ohio voters are going to vent their spleen about Taft anywhere on the ballot this fall, it will be in this race. Still, it's fair to say there is a wider gap between our no. 1 and no. 2 races than in Lines past.

---

Accuracy In Media

Along comes Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell. First elected for two terms as State Treasurer and then in 2002 Secretary of State, getting nearly 50% of the Black vote, Blackwell stands apart from the scandals. He alone supported the Marriage Amendment in Ohio, which received 500,000 more votes than did President George Bush for his re-election bid. All other elected officials, such as Taft, DeWine and the other Republican Senator, George V. Voinovich, opposed the Marriage Amendment. Blackwell not only supported it, he campaigned for it. And he also campaigned for tax limitation. He has a commanding presence, is articulate and is the only hope for Republican retention of the Ohio State House next year. So what did the Party do? Did it embrace Blackwell to demonstrate that Blacks are not given lip service but are welcomed by the Party? No. The Republican Party recruited a candidate to run against Blackwell. Many Ohio GOP leaders evidently would rather control the wreckage than have the independent-minded conservative Ken Blackwell as Governor.

Townhall.com

The way in which he resembles George W. Bush -- his thin resume -- is not one that will help him. It may be cancelled out, though, by the ways in which he conspicuously contrasts with the outgoing president -- notably, being thoughtful, articulate and seemingly open to opposing views. Bush is the commander in chief. But it's Obama who gives the effortless impression of command.

Pathetic.
I'm done.

Sexual Assult

I'll let this one speak for itself.

A Hagerstown father says his five-year-old son knows nothing about sex, but the boy was written up for sexually harassing a kindergarten classmate.

Washington County school officials told Charles Vallance that his son pinched a girl's buttocks earlier this month in a hallway at Lincolnshire Elementary School. The school says that meets the state's definition of sexual harassment. Vallance says his son was only playing around and had no sexual intent.

School officials say the incident will remain in the boys file until he goes to middle school.

Citing state data, the (Hagerstown) Herald-Mail reports that 28 kindergarten students in Maryland were suspended for sex offenses in the last school year. Fifteen of those suspensions were for sexual harassment.

The Spirit of the Season, II

A friend of Mrs. D.S. called to give her "Black Friday" experience at Wal-Mart.

The line to get in was about 2 times the length of the store. Even so, it took only five minute to get into the store and to the bicycle area once they opened the door. By the time she got to the bicycle section, the bicycles were sold out.

She got other things and while waiting in a long line to check out, a woman approaches the woman in front of her and takes a box out of her arms. The woman who had the box snatched, 2 or 3 pieced the woman who snatched the box.

This happened in front of a guard.

Strange World

EL CERRITO, Calif. - A man was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon after police found him outdoors - naked - and he told them he had a tool in his rectum, authorities said.

The man was lying on a tree stump, masturbating beside a nature path, near a Bay Area Rapid Transit station Thursday, police said.

John Sheehan, 33, of Pittsburg, was initially arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure. But when asked whether he was carrying anything police should know about, Sheehan mentioned the tool, said El Cerrito Detective Cpl. Don Horgan.

"You can't get much more concealed than that," Horgan said.

How To Fix An Election

Imagine a company makes a voting system that is under intense scrutiny because of security concerns and past failures with the equipment in previous elections.

Imagine politicians running for the top office in the state both say that if people don't trust the voting system, they should use absentee ballots.

Imagine the local voting boards run out of absentee ballots.

Imagine people who receive absentee ballots receive absentee ballots for local jurisdictions that are not their own.

Imagine the company who is responsible for printing absentee ballots is the same company who is responsible for creating the voting system that is suspected as being insecure and prone to failure.

Would you then imagine that is conflict of interest situation?

Would you then imagine a situation where the voting process is rigged?

Ladies and gentlemen, stay tuned because that is the situation in The Land of Queen Mary: Maryland.

How To Ensure Vandalism

I bet this Radio Shack location suffered from a lot of vandalism and stolen items.

RadioShack Corp. notified about 400 workers by e-mail that they were being dismissed immediately as part of planned job cuts.

Employees at the Fort Worth headquarters got messages Tuesday morning saying: "The work force reduction notification is currently in progress. Unfortunately, your position is one that has been eliminated."

Company officials had told employees in a series of meetings that layoff notices would be delivered electronically, spokeswoman Kay Jackson said. She said employees were invited to ask questions before Tuesday's notification on a company intranet site.

That is foul and guaranteed to bring negative press.

Social Commentary Web Sites

I heard about this web site the other day on the radio and I just took a look at it.

Wow.

SorryAssBaby.Daddy.com.

Fadia Ward is a 27 year old single mother and lupus survivor who, like many other women in the U.S., is fighting the struggle of attaining due justice & support for her 4 beautiful children.

While undergoing research on the issue of back child support, Fadia stumbled across the following alarming statistic:  From 2002-2004, the "back child support epidemic" in the United States soared from $49 billion dollars to a whopping $89 billion.

Fadia was compelled to become an activist to do something about this growing national dilemma, while others just stand by.  She founded SorryAssBabyDaddies to warn, serve, and to protect, with hopes that lawmakers will be inspired to take action.

I have no problem with the concept of the web site. These males need to be "called out" and shamed into doing the minimal, which would be child support. But it would be better if they became a good influence in their children's lives.

When I went to the list of "baby daddy's," something struck me. Unless I'm misunderstanding how the listing works, it looks like the creator of the web site has 3 kids. If this is the case, then maybe more should be said about the choices women make?

Combine that web site with Don't Date Him Girl and these are two resources that women should probably use to screen their prospective romantic interests.

A "Mother" And Her Pedophile Friend

I'll get back to this later to give more detail, but right now I am livid, disgusted, and out for blood.

A mother woman female who bore a child befriended a person in 2000. Two years later, she learns that person is a convicted pedophile. Instead of ending all contact with that person, instead of ending contact of her child and that person, she still maintained a friendship with the pedophile. Her "rule" was that he was not to be left alone with her child.

You see it coming...

The man molested the child. On Friday, the man killed the child. On Monday, the man was captured.

[ Update : 6:36 PM ] Around July 4th, the man tried to strangle the child and the police was called. But the police could not locate the woman who bore the child.

The man had prior convictions for sexual assault against children. The man was on parole.

More later. The mother failed the child. She is irresponsible and I wanted to throw a brick at her when I saw her on television crying, saying she is going to kill him. Lady, I want to kill YOU! But that ain't all...

More later for this sad ass tale...

[ Update : 6:36 PM ]

I'm providing a link to a long article about this sorded mess. There is a lot of blame to go around, but, to me, 90% of the blame lies with the woman who bore the child. There is no way on this earth I would allow my child to be around a man, "friend" or not, who is a convicted pedophile!

I'll also point out things in the article which shows where the system failed, but the woman who bore the child bears most responsibility. Please note a refuse to call this woman a m****r. Note where I bold things.

Shanda Harris, 41, Irvin's mother, said Jones was "like a male role model" to Irvin and baby-sat him and his siblings for years as she worked through a drug treatment program. She said she became aware of Jones' 2002 conviction about a year ago but continued to let him spend time with her family. "I thought that everyone could change, and I see now I was really wrong," she said.

She said she never suspected Jones of molesting any of her six children. Police would not say yesterday whether Irvin's body showed signs of abuse.

Time and again, Baltimore court records show, Jones - who told police during an interview in August 2001 that he was "a pedophile who needed help" - escaped serious prison time in cases of sexual abuse.

...

Jones' first arrest, at age 16 in 1970, was on a charge of rape, said Joseph Sviatko, a spokesman for the city state's attorney's office. A second-degree sex offense charge followed in 1989. City prosecutors dropped both of those cases but could not say why yesterday.

Jones was convicted in 1990 of child sexual abuse and sentenced to seven years in prison, with all but seven months and seven days suspended. Details about that case were unclear yesterday.

...

In May 2000, Jones' sister called police to report that her daughter - Jones' niece - had been abused by Jones for four years, beginning when she was 4 years old, court documents show.

The alleged abuse took place at Jones' mother's house in the 3500 block of Old Frederick Road in Southwest Baltimore. That's where Jones has lived for years, according to court records, and that is the residence listed for him on the state's sex offender registry.

The 2000 case was not pursued because the victim's mother and Jones' parents wrote letters saying they would testify that he had never been alone with the girl, said Margaret T. Burns, a spokeswoman for the city state's attorney's office.

...

The three then agreed to give Jones a plea deal of a year in prison. The sentence was two concurrent terms of 10 years in prison, with all but one year suspended, and five years of supervised probation with special conditions.

...

Harris, a mother of six and grandmother of seven, said she met Jones about four years ago, when she was dating his brother. That would have been just after Jones' release from prison.

About a year later, Harris moved with her children into a shelter and sought treatment for heroin addiction, she said. Jones baby-sat the children while she was in treatment, making sure that they were fed and watching movies with them, Harris said.

...

Harris told Jones he could no longer go into her house and could not be alone with her children. But she did allow Jones to maintain contact with her family.

...

Harris said she and her family are devastated by the killing and the thought that a trusted family friend may have taken the life of the boy. "I keep thinking that if I didn't have so much trust, he would be here," Harris said.

I'm disgusted.

On television, the woman's mother was on the news saying she told her daughter not to let him around the boy. Where was she in this? Where is the father in this? Where is the family in this?

And the court system failed all around, but if the family had stepped up, Irvin Harris would not be dead.

You Sure It Wasn't The Championship He Was Watching?

Unbelievable.
Simply....

On March 30, Minnesota Timberwolves center Eddie Griffin was drunk and masturbating when he crashed his luxury SUV into a parked Suburban outside a store in Minneapolis, according to a lawsuit filed Thursday by the man whose Suburban was hit in the crash.

WCCO-TV obtained copies of 911 calls and store surveillance video of the incident, along with an accident report the police submitted to the state, reports WCCO-TV's Caroline Lowe.

Several of the 911 callers that night said Griffin was drunk. One witness said Griffin told him he was watching pornography in a DVD player mounted on the dashboard of his Cadillac Escalade SUV when he struck a Chevy Suburban parked on University Avenue Southeast.

The location where Griffin crashed is located a couple miles from the Target Center where Griffin had played with his team several hours earlier.

Abed Hassuneh, who is the brother of the victim, said Griffin told him, "That he was masturbating himself going down that street. That's how the accident happened because he was not paying attention. He's paying attention to that video and all of a sudden he's shoveled somebody's car on the top of the sidewalk."
