Pondering If The Profit Is Worth The Loss of Family Time

"Back in the day" I remember very long shopping lists being generated before the holidays so the shopping could be completed because the stores weren't open on the holiday. On the holiday, the store was closed and if you didn't get something, you either went without or went to a neighbor asking for something.

While the convenience of having the store open is nice, I feel for the people working because their family time is abbreviated. Is the profit worth it?
