With the announcement of a compromise plan between President Obama and
the House Republicans, I don't know what to think.
1. It's funny that progressives and liberals are hammering Obama about
caving in. So far in The Washington Post, there have been 2 opinion
articles saying Obama should either not run or be given more
progressive/liberal opposition in 2012. I'm not going to even count
the number of articles and blog posting by progressives/liberals
stating Obama has no backbone.
2. It's interesting that in this case, evidently he and his
administration were willing to get into the details to get this done,
meanwhile with health care, according to Democrats, he and his
administration did little to nothing and left it up to congress to
come up with a health care bill.
3. Compare the open hostility towards Obama's actions by supporters to
W. Bush's supporters when he pushed Medicare changes that will blow up
in a few years as well as NCLB.
4. If the congressional Democrats openly revolt, Obama's presidency is
toast. If they don't openly revolt, I think we may see Tea Party
confrontation from the left side.
OK, so maybe I do have some thoughts.
