DarkStar - YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS!!
I know that you can.
The comparison is laughable.
The notion of "Hate Crimes" / "Thought Crimes" is the notion that messages beyond the mechanical commission of a particular crime was received by those other members of the "protected group" and that they would be terrorized as such. Thus the "Hate Crimes" penalty is an add-on piece of punishment to "send a message" to other would be assailants.
I struggle to understand how you can then translate this notion into a claim that verbally spouting off to a police man and refusing to produce identification with your address on it as being one in the same of a "Thought Crime".
Next time you get a speeding ticket and then are sent to court I beg you to call the judge who is charged with adjudicating your case AND ultimately setting your penalty an "Azz Hole" during the court proceedings.
You will get some TIME in jail to THINK about your "Thought Crime" as a result.
As much as you purport to be about positive change and reform of various communities that are suffering - you appear to get it wrong when it comes to the need manage RESPECT FOR AUTHORITY.
So much of our young people are running a permanent revolution that the potential of having FAVORABLE PEOPLE in power over the key institutions that they depend upon is squandered.
