What's Wrong With This Picture?

What is wrong with this picture?

Here is an article specifying what's wrong. I don't get it. I see nothing wrong with it.

When I first saw the statute it reminded me of some Communist statue--don't ask me which one, but it does look as if MLK is about to whip some a$$.

Many years ago, a friend of mine told me that a black man with folded arms intimidates whties. This is the first "proof" I have that he was correct.

BB, that's all I can think at this point.

a black man with folded arms intimidates whties.

Dear Lawd!!

This situation has less to to with the fears of "Whites" (this is the first time I heard about the "folded arms" thing) than it does with the politics behind it. I had a series of exchanges on my site with the guy who was originally slated to do this project, his wife and another member of their group "King is Ours".

In short, they are pissed because the work is being done in China and not here in the US using stone from US quarries. Mind you, the panel overseeing this project (mostly Black) had no problem with this statue and how it looked FOR YEARS. Apparently Ed Dwight must have reached the right people as now ALL-OF-A-SUDDEN the statue now reminds them of statues seen in communist countries.

The whole thing is funny yet sad at the same time.

Everything else we consume is produced in China...

It looks ok to me except I would not know who it was unless someone told me. I'd love to have it on my own property.

I don't have any image in my mind of any black male with crossed arms, but have seen a few black women stand listening with their arms crossed while in an argument, then let loose on the other person verbally when they have reached the point of "had enough of it".

I did a search for "Lenin statue" and found some states of Lenin that are of a similar massing, composition and appearance even though they are made with different materials.

Path to a Lenin statue below:
