Some year end notes...
Most Public Notable Event Of The Year
To me, the most notable event of the year, non-death related, is Dick Chaney shooting his friend in the face while hunting. First, it's notable because Chaney is an avid hunter and he should know never to shoot without making sure the path between you and the target is clear. Second, and most note worthy to me, is that his friend, face jacked because he took bird shot in it, apologizes to Chaney for causing Chaney(!) all of the problems because of being shot!
DAMN!
I'm tight with a few friends but if one of them shot me because he was careless, we would have some serious words and I would have to lay hand on him.
Most Private (That I'm Willing To Share) Notable Event Of The Year
That belongs to my daughter. After having fun her first year of college and being asked to take a year off from that school as a result, she went to a trade school for a few months to gain a skill. I disagreed with it but she did what she wanted to do. She then enrolls in a junior college and gets back in the academic groove. She's going full time and has a full time job.
I'm happy because she's getting back her swagger.
Private Notable Bonus Of The Year
Mrs. D.S. has given me cards on our anniversary, my birthday, Christmas, and D.S. 2.0's birthday from D.S. 2.0 that lets me know she appreciates the job I'm doing as the head of the household.
Now, I'm just doing what needs to be done to keep the roof over our heads, everyone's stomach full, and everyone decently closed. Since Mrs. D.S. has become a stay-at-home mother, it's been tighter financially, but we can make it. In fact, the double-oh-seven should be financially easier as a few bills get paid off. But even if not, we still would be fine. What would have to be done, would be done.
I don't need a card to say thank you for doing what I'm supposed to be doing. But, it's nice hearing the thanks, especially since the "gender wars" get the press. Knawhaddamean?
And, yes, I do tell Mrs. D.S. that she's appreciated.
Gotta run. Real dot life calls.
Happy New Year!
