Look, I like the idea of a voter identification card. Showing further identification to verify you are the person who you claim to be is a no-brainer. As someone who is registered to vote and who intends to vote this November, I think it may help stop someone from claiming they are me and voting. I think the chance of that happening is slim and more likely to happen to those who are dead, especially if you live in Chicago.
If people are too poor to afford a state recognized identification card, give them an identification card for free. I swear I don't understand the nonsense about producing identification means the poor and minorities will be disenfranchised.

When I wrote this, I did so because I heard an earlier talk show host droning on and on about voter identification cards being harmful to Black voters. I didn't realize this was in the works.
I wonder how many people can produce proof of citizenship. Hmmmm....
